Saturday, August 9. Party starts at 5:00pm, ride starts at 6:00pm.
Our buddies at Swobo, makers of kick-ass bicycles, are coming out to SF to party with you. So we are going to assist in making such a party happen. They have two requirements for said party: bike riding and beer drinking, and they are not messing around. The details: Party starts at 5pm, the ride takes off at 6. This ride consists of 3 checkpoints hosted by our friends at DZR, Revolights, and Boombotix. Each checkpoint will have thirst quenching “beverages†and we may get a little slappy. Prizes are to be had along the ride, and a token from each checkpoint might land you some shwag back at the shop, so stay sharp-ish.

Thursday, August 7th, 7:00 - 9:00 pm @ Huckleberry Bicycles
Join us here at Huckleberry Bicycles to get your bike playa-ready. Light up your bike, be seen and avoid playa-crashes: MonkeyLectric has got your trippy LED needs covered. Boombotix has speakers to make your music-bike dreams come true. Need to grab a lock? How about a pump for your camp? Spare tubes? Maybe a chain or a basket? We've got all of that, and we'll even have some tennis balls for your kickstands. If you're a virgin burner, we'll explain all of this to you. We may even show you how to fix a flat and give you a superb packlist.
Playa Bike Repair will amuse us with stories of the most common bicycle failures and [gasp] how to prevent them! In honor of 2014's theme: Caravansary, bring your playa bike and they'll transport it to the playa for $50.
DJ Serious Leisure will spin. Yes, there will be free beer. Yes, there will be Bruce Cost Ginger Ale. Yes, there will be Bicycle Bánh Mi. Yes, there will be valet bike parking. And yes, proceeds from this event will go to the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition.

Hi all you Huckleberries out there! If you are anything like me, right now you are depressed because the USMNT (that's the US Men's National Soccer Team) lost to Belgium in the round of sixteen at the World Cup. We watched every game here at the shop, and now I guess it is time to get back to work. Or, as they say in my favorite movie, "It's time to get un-depressed!"
Yes. We have just the thing to get you out of your bed, to help you wipe away those tears, and get you motivated again. No I'm not referring to the awesome picture of Clint Dempsey riding a Bomb Pop with rainbows shooting out of his mouth. Although that definitely helped me to get un-depressed.
Rather, we have a great selection of new bicycles, new bags, new clothes, and all of your favorite goodies for a little retail therapy!
For starters --- All 2014 Pinarello models on the floor are on sale! We still have a few in stock, including the Marvel, the Rokh, and the Razha K. These bikes are a steal right now -- like how Brazil stole that first game from Croatia.
As the World's Smoothest Cannondale Dealer, we always have a load of Cannondales on the sales floor. The 2014 Synapse is a ridiculous bike, the EVO with Dura-Ace won Bike-of-the-Year, and we have a fleet of CAAD10s on the floor.
On the commuter, casual side of things, we have a fleet of Swobo bikes in stocks that are killer, no-frills, durable bike. We still have a few Handsome Bikes left until our next shipment arrives later this month, including the new model the Fredward. Bad-ass.
As always, our bag selection is second to none. In addition to the usual suspects (Ortlieb, Chrome, and Brooks), we've added bags from Vaude, North Street, and Koki. Amazing stuff.
Don't forget about the world's smoothest wall of Brooks products. From leather saddles and grips to delicious backpacks and panniers, we've got you covered.
Last, but not least, our apparel selections are as well-made as the Brazuca. Castelli, Giro New Road, Levi's, and Chrome, it's all here and ready to wear!
So as always, come on down to Huckleberry Town to wipe those World Cup blues away. We promise the Nintendo will be warmed up and ready to go!

Freitag: A Swiss bag maker with a German name (Freitag means Friday in German). It makes me wonder what the classic movie Friday would have been like if it were a German film, starring Michael Fassbender, Heidi Klum, and that guy from Beverly Hills Cop II. "No, Smokey, I actually can't get high cuz it's Friday and I have a job." Jah, that would have been a very different movie.
But I digress. We love re-using, recycling, and re-interpreting anything here at the shop. Indeed, ask someone here about the Great Mall of Jameriqua and be prepared for a surreal explanation of the greatest retail experience ever re-imagined. It's a land where Fisherman's Wharf is a Star Trek themed restaurant called Fisherman Worf's, serving Enter-fries of course. As they say in real estate and retail, location is everything. That is why the Great Mall of Jameriqua is located in the North Atlantic Gyre -- that's right, trash island. Because with all that raw plastic material, what better to do than build a plastic mall. It's called recycling.
Which brings me back to Freitag.
Freitag bags are handmade using recycled truck liners. It sounds strange and a little gimmicky at first, but when you actually see Freitag bags, you realize just how incredibly nice they are. It's amazing how lovely a truck liner re-interpreted can be. Freitag bags are, I hate to say it, sort of the pinnacle of shabby chic. Look at some of the bags that Freitag has produced.
Inside those beautiful shells are some impressive functional features that you'd expect in a bag these days: inner pockets, laptop sleeves, hidden pockets, and so on.
These guys are crushing it! Each Freitag bag is unique. Shopping for the right Frietag bag is an experience in and of itself. At the shop we now have a full display and collection of bags from Freitag -- messenger bags, backpacks, tool rolls, wallets, so many beauties!
So as always, don't let weather on the streets keep you from comin' down to Huckleberry Town and picking up a Freitag bag for you or a loved one!

The year is winding down, but a few choice bikes from 2014 are still hanging 'round the shop looking for a home for the holidays. I think it's time you came in and gave that bike a spin. Don't forget that when you buy a bike from Huckleberry, you receive a free year of tune-ups, a free fitting, and access to a whole library of Nintendo and Sega games to enjoy while your bike is getting a pedicure.
Visit our closeout list to see all of the bikes on sale here.

There has always been one piece of the fashion puzzle missing here in Huckleberry Town: epic shades. But not any more. We now carry Spy Optics -- you can find 'em in a fancy glass lit-box near the front of the store.
We are carrying about 20 or so different models of Spy sunglasses, mostly in the performance line. The model names are simply amazing -- the screw, screw over, and screw under? Awesome.
My personal favorites are the Fold, which are folding sunglasses to match your Brompton or new Brooks Carrerra helmet!
