Tour de France // Road Bikes

A wild Tour de France is underway. This time around the Tour started in jolly England for the first three stages. An estimated three million people have come out to support the race in England, a feat that has commentators blathering about how that is related to the increase in commuting by bike in England. Is there a correlation? I'm apt to think it has more to do with a British love of drinking and watching sports. Stage One produced an epic sprint finish with Brit-rocker Mark Cavendish barreling his head into another rider and subsequently crashing out and ruining his tour. Ouch. Two riders staying on top of their bikes and showing their strength are Marcel Kittel of Shimano/Giant and Peter Sagan of Cannondale Pro Cycling. Wow.
