Eroica

Eroica is coming to California April 11-12, marking 2015 as the first year that this amazing ride and event has touched ground in the Continental US. A true celebration of the classic age of cycling, Eroica is no standard group ride. It is reveling in cyclings epic past. See all the details here. Words can not capture the magic that is Eroica. So here we offer some photos of Zack's recent trip to ride L'Eroica in Italy. . . with just a few words.

I was invited out to Italy to ride L'Eroica by the kind folks of Brooks England. I didn't know what to expect going into this, and I came back a changed man.

The group began to thin.

Andrea of Brooks England. My riding companion and a good one at that. Being Italian and very familiar with the area he had a wealth of knowledge to share.

The "Strada Bianch" or White Roads.

The white roads were pretty brutal to tires. Fine, gritty gravel.

One day, 209km, and 12,000 ft of climbing on gravel and road. Riding a 1985 Atala, winding through the Chianti region of Tuscany. The spirit of the event pushing me the entire way. Countless bottles of vino in the days prior and even more in the days that followed. The great people of Italy and the great culture of cycling. Life changing.
